Christmas Greetings

Well, it's back to work tomorrow. Officially, Christmas is over, both sides of the family have celebrated, Christmas Eve with the Hiatt's and Christmas Day with the Cogley/Kings. And what a nice Christmas it was. The Christmas Eve service was different but very touching and the candlelights during Silent Night is always awesome. We did the advent candle this year at the in-laws with the youngest kids lighting the candles. I even got everybody to sing Silent Night once, even though Irv wanted to sing let it snow, let it snow...It was a lot of fun. Christmas morning Josh & Lindy woke us up when they arrived. Of course, Sarah was already up! Breakfast casserole, muffins, & cinnamin rolls were made and when Anna and Angelina got there at 10 we opened the stocking and then ate. Everyone was starving by then! Presents from each other and Santa followed. Irv surprised me with a beautiful heart journey necklace. He's so naughty! (He bought himself a new shotgun!) A little nap while Jesus' birthday cake baked and we were off to my folks house at the lake. Tom, Darcy, Autumn & Hunter joined us there, actually we joined them as we got there after 2 and dinner was started already! Always a first for everything! What a fabulous dinner and wonderful afternoon! Jerry and family called and we got to talk to them briefly from Chile. (Kenny's family chose to go skiing this Christmas. So we missed them.) Sarah and Travis had to leave by 4 so she could go to work on Friday and the almost made it back to their home in Iowa be ended up in the ditch not far from Marshaltown. Thank God they were unhurt! The roads were so very icy! Irv had to work Friday too so left for S. Morrill on the train early that morning. By midnight he thought he was having a heart attack and called to say he was going to the ER in Scottsbluff! Josh & I left for the hospital and by the time we got there at 2:30 am they were dismissing him. Anxiety attack they said and told him to follow up with our family doctor on Monday. Well, he's still not feeling well, weak, hot, cold, headache, upset tummy. Has been sleeping most of the weekend. So we'll see what the docter says tomorrow...Pray, pray, pray...

Where did July go?

I can't believe it's almost been a month since we sold the house! Where did July go? We've been having a terrific summer visiting relatives and old friends, with all the reunions and weddings! What fun to reunite with family and friends and catch up! Just got back Wednesday from my trip to Pennsylvania, went camping in Benkelman (Sarah & Travis got to come too) for the Hiatt Family Reunion over the 4th and are going to Kearney Thursday and Friday for Kyle Rupp's wedding. Irving is flying in from San Fransico too! We just have been so blessed to be able to be surrounded by so many loved ones all the time!

Finishing Up...

Finishing up the spec house.

We've been finishing up the new house for weeks now since before the closing was postponed. We're still watering and God's still growing grass but Friday is the last day and it will be all said and done! Yea-ha! Irv did an excellent job with a little help from his family and I am so proud of him for the beautiful house he built. Now I just have to hope we love our new neighbors!

Thank you God!

We got a buyer and signed the papers to sell the new house last Friday. The inspector came on Monday, my day off!, and made a list of things to do to finish up. Like vent the crawl space and put in the dryer vent! Just a few little details. Plan on closing on June 13. Will be ready for the Nebraskaland Days Pre-concert picnic (party) on that day!!

New House Ready to Show!

Wow, what a lot of work! Put the new house on the market as of yesterday and had to have it ready for the Realtors Tour today! With the help of my folks, Josh and even Patty came over, we cleaned and finished the front porch last night and it sounds like the showing was a success! Now PRAY HARD for a buyer fast!

Where does the time go?

Have been working hard to finish up our construction project. The wood flooring is in, the tile is in the bathrooms, and the carpet is coming next Thursday! We listed the house on the market for 4/28 so we better get the siding done and the doors painted soon.

Well, 3 weeks until Sarah graduates from college! I can't believe it. Just pray she gets a job soon so she can find a place to live! Irving started his new job at the Burlington Northern as a carman on the 14th and loves it! Katy took a trip to LA and is studying hard I'm sure. Josh & Lindy are hard at subbing and recruiting and Josh & Anna are helping all they can on the house. I painted my laundry room last weekend too. Also uncovered a mildewed spot that needs repaired. It's never just an easy thing!

Irv & I went to Ogallala High School to see Wynston as Young Joe in Damn Yankees last weekend it was really good! I finished up my 4th dishcloth and have crocheted 1/2 of a hat recently! Went to yoga twice this week and a candle party on Tuesday at a friend from work's house. Meet some new people! Went to Happy Hour tonight at Little Mexico with some old and dear friends as was in bed by nine. Well, that's life in the fast lane. Hope you all are enjoy yourselves as we are. God Bless.

April 8, 2008

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was lovely and sad too. The women's retreat was awesome! Walked the outdoor labrynth at our church, had a head, neck, and shoulder massage, sugar foot massage, and experienced a couple guided meditations, had small groups and crafts, colored a mandala (centering experience), did some yoga and slept on the floor of the church for the second weekend in a row. The youth group lock in was the weekend before! What fun times! The Saturday morning we did skits after breakfast and danced on the indoor labrynth. Wow!

Then we took Irving to Perkins to catch his Dash-about ride to the airport in Denver. Don't know when we'll get to see him again as he started his new job as a carman for the Burlington Northern in Richmond CA Monday. It was kinda quiet the rest of the weekend, cleaning and laundry.

The new house is coming along. ..Ready for ceramic tile in the bathrooms and the electricians to finish up. Will order carpet this week and start on the deck. It's looking good!

Well, hope you all grow to be healthy, wealthy, and wise as each day passes. Later, take care, Renae

April 4, 2008 TGIF!

I'm so glad it's the weekend! I love not haveing to go to work. But his weekend I'll be sad because Irving will be going back to San Francisco. He's been here all week helping his dad and Josh & Anna on the house, putting down the laminate flooring, the base boards and the stone on the fireplace. We wouldn't be be this far along if they didn't work altogether to get done! What great kids!

March 31, 2008 My family news

Hey family. Thought I'd try this on for size. Today we woke up to snow, just some flurries but by 9 am there were lots of big flurries coming down really fast! It was pretty while it lasted, then it stopped and then it melted. No sign of snow by 4 pm. Irv and the boys worked on putting the flooring down today in the new house and the electricians worked on putting up lights and switches. It won't be long now until it is complete!! More about our construction project later...Hope you all have a great April. Until next time...

Love and hugs,

Renae
