Happieness by Sara Avant Stover

"To me, happiness is being with what is--without
running from it or clinging to it. It's about having
the wisdom and openness of heart to give yourself
to, and to surrender into, each moment. That includes
moments that are euphoric, moments that are boring,
moments that are confusing, and moments that are
heartbreaking--and everything in between!

Yes, smiles are beautiful and laughter and states of glee
feel nice--but to me happiness is much deeper than these
things. Sometimes happiness does express itself in those ways,
but it's much richer and fuller and truer than being in a really
good mood.

To be truly happy you need to be willing to go into
the darkness in order to find the light."

5 hours! Is all it took. Made a baby bonnet for Monica's shower that we didn't get to go to today because of the snow. Guess I'll have to mail it. Got one sockie done today though and it is so tiny and cute. Very tidious work. Will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to get them off my phone!

Windows Live Hotmail: "This week's promise: God will live among us with great joy
Have you experienced God's presence as you pray?
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!… I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

Do you have the joy of God's presence?

On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be, "Cheer up, Zion! Don't be afraid! For the Lord your God has arrived to live among you. He is a mighty savior. He will rejoice over you with great gladness. With his love, he will calm all our fears. He will exult over you by singing a happy song."

Prayer

"How can I make my prayers effective?

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God's mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity.

Ryleigh Mae

Our new great neice...Ryleigh Mae Pritchard was born in Lincoln NE on August 4 to my neice Melissa Miller and Andrew Pritchard. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long. We were fortunate to visit that weekend and Sarah met us in Lincoln too! What a terrific time!

House #2 is coming along...

Where is the summer going? I'm not ready to call it over yet even though it feels like fall in the air. Irv made me go to Westminster Woods with him last weekend, I cleaned, did some laundry, crocheted, took out the trash, cleaned the frig, crocheted some more, and had a blast fishing with Irving William in the paddle boat. I caught one and he caught 2. Mine was bigger! Irv worked at pushing sand around to make a better wetland for hunting. Can't wait to go back!

Windows Live Hotmail: "'Embrace the Fact That We Do Not Control Everything!'

Realizing and accepting this is paradoxically freeing. When we finally admit that we aren't in control of everything, when we change our attitude to conform to reality, we are making the first choice towards health. We can nurture our body, feed it well, and stay as fit as possible. But finally we are called to love the body we have, embrace the reality that we are. Like God in the biblical creation story, we may then say, 'It is good.'"

Whoa! Happy Spring!

Here it is April already. The year is flying by so quickly. Enjoying the ride as we go. Well, that is now that Irv is feeling better, his blood pressure was out of control and he was sick to his stomach. But no heart, gall bladder, stomach, or colon problems were found. Thank God for insurance! In his spare time Irv & Irving spend their days working at Lexington on the land the Hiatt's bought. They are fixing it up to sub-divide and sell, someday...Josh is still subbing in the North Platte Public School system. Praying for a full time PE job for next fall. They found out they are having a baby boy! We are planning on Carter James joining us in 8 weeks or so. We are all so excited! Sarah has a new position at Yonkers as EsteeLauder counter manager. She is glad to be done with clothing! I am still keeping busy with work, church, and personal growth including yoga, strength training, and the Proverbs 31 90 day Jumpstart to Becoming the Woman God Wants Me To Be. It's been very reflective and hard to be consistant with it all, but what a blessing!

Happy New Year!

God's blessings to you all in 2009!
Ah, yes...the only things that remain the same is that things always CHANGE and there is always HOPE.

This year has brought unscheduled vacation time for Irv as he has been sick and not able to work for 3 weeks now. All of the tests on his heart and gall bladder have shown normal and we are thankful for that. Today he has been preping for an upper GI scope and a colonoscopy schedule for tomorrow afternoon. We are just praying for some answers to why he is feeling so poorly.

Besides that, Irving William is back home from CA. We had a wonderful trip to San Francisco and Nevada and he was a great tour guide!
